Job Description

We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity to join our client, a leading global aviation brand, as a Quality Inspector on a Temporary ongoing basis based in Fareham.

This is a Monday - Friday position, a 37-hour week, with a nice early finish on a Friday! There are also opportunities to go permanent as a Quality Inspector.

About the Role: As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming materials and products. Your keen eye for detail will be vital in upholding the high standards. You will validate components and assemblies against technical drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements using a variety of inspection tools, including CMM and specialised equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Drive and sustain continuous improvement within the cell
  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping and adhere to 5S principles
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and standard specifications
  • Validate products with inspection tools, including CMM (programming skills required)
  • Review and create First Article reports with knowledge of AS9102
  • Inspect and measure various components and assemblies from external suppliers, including machined components, sub-assemblies, castings, forgings, mouldings, electrical components, special processes, COTS items, and bearings
  • Support quality and manufacturing teams in investigating non-conforming products
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve documentation errors

Requirements:

  • Strong comprehension of quality standards including AS9102
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Confident using tools, including measurement tools
  • Experience using CMM
  • Ability to provide clear, concise information across various functions, including suppliers
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
